Our history
Our story begins in Santa María del Valle, Jalisco, a place where the flavors are as rich as the traditions that surround it.
In 2008, with the desire to explore new horizons and bring with him the authentic flavor of Jalisco, our founder emigrated to the United States.
The first years in a new country were challenging
The passion for cooking and the desire to share the delights of his homeland never diminished.
In 2012, he took the first step toward his dream by working tirelessly at a taqueria in Los Angeles, where he honed his culinary skills and absorbed the diversity of flavors that characterizes the American food scene.
The year 2020 marked a milestone in our history when we opened the doors of our first taqueria in Shawnee, Kansas.
With a heart full of gratitude and determination, our founder overcame significant challenges, sacrificing the closeness of family and moving to a new state to realize his vision.
Every day is a journey, and we walk with the certainty that Tacos El Viejon will not only be a successful taqueria, but will also become a nationally recognized franchise and brand.
